Delivering technical readiness without disrupting care
Integrated governance across clinical workflows, facilities, infrastructure, architects, and technology teams from construction through go-live.
Background
Integrated governance across clinical workflows, facilities, infrastructure, architects, and technology teams from construction through go-live.
Business challenge
Multi-year clinical transformation required technology delivery to remain synchronized with demolition, construction, facilities, clinical workflows, and system commissioning—while protecting uninterrupted patient care.
Organizational context
A multi-year health-system transformation combined physical construction, clinical operations, infrastructure, and technology commissioning.
Stakeholders
Health-system leadership, clinicians, facilities teams, design architects, infrastructure groups, vendors, and operational teams.
Constraints
Demolition, construction, clinical workflows, system commissioning, and go-live sequencing had to remain synchronized while patient care continued.
My role
I led end-to-end technology readiness and go-live sequencing from early construction through commissioning and operational handoff.
Governance approach
Established integrated readiness governance across leadership, clinicians, facilities, architects, infrastructure teams, and vendors; managed cross-domain interdependencies; and aligned physical and digital milestones to operational readiness.
Outcome
Technology and facility readiness were coordinated through go-live with zero disruption to patient care. The program demonstrated how integrated governance can protect operational continuity while complex physical and digital change occurs simultaneously.
Lessons learned
Operational continuity depends on governing physical, clinical, and digital readiness as one integrated transformation—not as separate workstreams.
Leadership takeaway
Governance earns trust when it helps leaders see trade-offs, make decisions, and move the enterprise forward.
